Spiro & Associates was honored to be a guest at the Miles of Smiles Foundation VIP Reception on March 22 at the invite of Keith and Gail Doxie, the brain powers behind Miles Ranch, which opened in North Fort Myers on Veterans Day 2013. More than 60 guests were treated to a presentation by a member of the board of directors who deftly explained the foundation and the ranch’s mission in helping military veterans battling post-traumatic stress disorder.
FineMark National Bank & Trust was the ultimate host in making the event a success in the spacious Bruce T. Gora Community Room at their Fort Myers Riverwalk location. G3 Catering provided an exceptional array of treats to nosh on and beverages to wash them down. From bacon-wrapped goodies on a stick, to salmon, beef Wellington, sweet desserts and more.
After speaking with guests and learning about the Miles of Smiles mission, guests were treated to a special whiskey tasting, including some of the finest brands in the world.
But the evening was really about Miles of Smiles and Keith and Gail’s exhaustive and diligent work in assisting veterans at a time in their lives when they need it most. With long wait times for appointments at a Veterans Affairs facility, finding the necessary psychiatric help poses a challenge for many.
