In recent weeks many clients have inquired with us about significant eblast spamming and emails being quarantined or pointed to Junk/Spam. Below is a standardized list of ways to assist in helping your messaging find its path to your prospect.

1. Use a tool to test the eblast before sending:
- Visit mail-tester.com
- Copy the email address provided
- Send your proposed eblast to that address from your email service
- Hen click “check your score” on the mail-tester.com homepage
2. Review email content, make sure you’re “from” name is clear, for example: Christopher Spiro
3. Add a footer containing: physical address, a clear unsubscribe link, company logo, your name and contact information.
4. Avoid sending image heavy emails. It is recommended to have a minimum of 60% text and a maximum of 40% image coverage, with at least 400 characters of text.

5. Don’t use spam risk words, for example (a partial list):
- Prize(s)
- Gambling
- Betting
- Offer
- Special Offer
- Don’t miss out
- Today Only
- Discount
6. Enforce double opt-in. After a user signs up for an email list, send an email to the user including a link for them to confirm the subscription.
7. Keep your email list clean and updated. Mailing lists that contain over 5% of invalid addresses will start triggering spam/quarantine filters. These include mistyped email addresses, like example@hotnail.com and addresses that cease to exist, like when someone leaves their job.

8. Send emails regularly and remove inactive subscribers.
9. Always ensure you remove bounced emails from your list.
10. Evaluate how your emails are delivered.
11. Use an approved eblast delivery service.
12. Finally, hire a professional to help you.
