christopher spiro earns chamber of commerce of cape coral lifetime achievement award
Cape Coral, FL. (Feb 09, 2022) Last week, the Chamber of Commerce of Cape Coral recognized Christopher Spiro for his lifetime of service to the chamber and community by giving him its Lifetime Achievement Award.
The award, which started in 2016, is given to a Chamber member who has given time, talent, and treasury to make the chamber and city better. Spiro joins former Chamber president Mike Quaintance, former Mayor of Cape Coral Joe Mazurkiewicz and Cape Coral’s longest resident Gloria Tate as winners of this prestigious award.
Spiro is a Florida man through and through, living in Cape Coral since the city opened to residents in 1970, opening the doors to Spiro & Associates in 1989. He attended the University of Florida, becoming a fraternity brother at Delta Tau Delta and heavily involved in the University.
But anyone who has ever met Chris knows he cannot simply be a community member or Bull Gator, and he must completely immerse himself in the task at hand. So, he became a public speaker, conducting engagements for colleges and universities, business groups, real estate events, Lee County Public Schools gatherings, the Disney Institute, Women’s Council of Realtors, the Ford Motor Company’s Next Generation Learning initiative for students and the local STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) initiative for high school students. But that did not seem to be enough, so he began serving on boards of directors and executive committees, such as the Chamber of Commerce of Cape Coral, Florida’s Southern Gulf Chapter of the American Red Cross, Cape Coral Council for Progress, Lee BIA’s Sales and Marketing Council, the Southwest Florida Gator Club, and most recently, Spiro was named President of The Horizon Foundation.
Although Chris’s passion for Cape Coral earned him “Citizen of the Year” in 2004 and “Lifetime Achievement” in 2021, he continues to seek innovative ways to bring business leaders, nonprofit organizations, city officials, and others together to benefit our community.
“I was shocked and caught off guard, and I was speechless for the first time in many years,” said Christopher Spiro, Chief Creative Officer, Spiro & Associates. “I was honored and humbled to be recognized. It has always been an enjoyable experience to work with the great business leaders in Cape Coral to promote our community.”
“Chris Spiro has been an integral part of the Chamber of Commerce of Cape Coral for the last four decades. He has helped us develop our brand our leadership programs and continues to give back to the Chamber and the community as a whole,” said Donna Germain, president, and CEO of the Chamber of Commerce of Cape Coral.
“As we recognized all of our outstanding members for their contributions in 2021, we were truly honored to present Chris with our 2021 Lifetime Achievement Award.”
