The Challenge

A group of friends and businessmen got together and formed a small community bank in Cape Coral. The focus of the institution would be to fill a void in the small-business segment of the banking business. At the time the bank was in organization in 2004, Cape Coral was a community in which 95 percent of businesses had three employees or less.

The Solution

Create an institution and personality for this new bank where community comes first. A unique institution where decisions are made not on balance sheets, but by the people behind the company. Create a personality where small is not weak — small actually makes the bank in a stronger position to serve its customers better.

The Result

Community Bank of Cape Coral continued to grow both its commercial and residential deposit base, honoring the commitment it had made to always put community first. The bank was bought out in 2013.
